Introducing The Good Life’s staff writers, a look at the themes featured this month, and the most popular posts in May.

Themes featured on The Good Life in May

In the first week of May, The Good Life ran posts in ongoing series 100 Words from Men on Love (see the call for submissions here), a short series on the Ethics of Writing About Living People, and two series-within-a-series on Men and Machines by Jason Kapcala.

Other posts in The Good Life appear all week long—in Suicide, Disposability of Men, Lifestyle, Gay Pride, and other sections—and each week generally features a debut series based on a previous call for submissions. The second week of May featured a series on Marijuana. The third week, on Quitting, includes one story, by new contributor D.T. Brown, that made it to #10 for the month. The fourth week featured a series on Best Men—those who stand with us when we marry. I wrote about our best man for this series.

The last week of May featured posts in the First Responders series. You can read stories from Kendall Ruth, a certified wilderness responder, and Kile Ozier, an activist who helped countless men during the AIDS crisis, and then see them in a live Hangout with me and two other guests—a rock star and a missionary.

If you already write for us and are interested in becoming a regular contributor, email your editor at the GMP for more details.
